At 9:00 pm last night Grace turned 26 weeks old! That means we have been in the NICU for 2 weeks - 14 days - 336 hours - 20 160 minutes...you get the picture. Although it feels much longer, more like 2 months or even 2 years! I hardly remember what life was like before our world got turned upside down. What I do know though is that we are thankful that the Lord has sustain Grace for these past 2 weeks. That we have gotten to know her, love her, and become immensely grateful for this time with her. Despite the difficulties, the ups and the downs, the trials, the broken hearts, we have learned many lessons on this journey so far. God has taught us so much about his character in this relatively short time, and He continues to hold all three of our lives in Has hands.

I was reminded today that Grace was His before she was mine and that he has been writing her story long before she came into my world. I can continue to trust that he knows what's best for her and can also trust that I am his and He will work everything out for mine, and Sam's, good. Our sermon today taught us about what it means to be a disciple of Christ and that we are called to surrender it all to him.

And now for a little update on Grace. The results of the head ultrasound showed fluid starting to build in the ventricles, this will continue to be monitored, and intervention will happen if it becomes to much pressure in her brain. Ideally she would have a surgery to drain the fluid now, but the Sick Kids surgeons say she has to wait till she is a bit bigger. So we wait, and pray for a miracle! How awesome would it be if the next ultrasound shows no fluid, and the doctors are flabbergasted 🙏🏼

She is still on antibiotics for infections, and is currently undergoing a procedure to put a Picc Line in so that the doctors don't have to put a new IV in every time one of her tiny veins collapse. They attempted twice yesterday but it was unsuccessful, however, the doctor today wanted to try again. So now we wait, and pray for a miracle. That the Lord would guide the doctors hands and allow this attempt to be successful, for our daughters sake. The more pokes she gets the more room for infection to enter her bloodstream, so a successful Pick-line would be an answer to prayers!

Pray that Sam and I can continue to put our faith and hope in our God, the God of the universe and of the impossible, and trust in the unseen.

Update: The Picc Line was a success! God guided Meredith's hands and she was able to get a line into Grace's right arm. Praise the Lord!
